John Steven O. Rivera was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2026. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Legal Management, graduating with Honorable Mention, from De La Salle University, where he actively participated in student leadership as Chairperson of the Research and Development Committee of the Student Government. He subsequently obtained his Juris Doctor from the Lyceum of the Philippines University College of Law – Makati, where he served as Chairperson of the Commission on Elections and Head of the Data Management Department of the Lyceum Office of the Legal Aid.
Steven’s early legal experience reflects a balance of private and public sector practice. As a law student, he interned with a firm specializing in intellectual property law, where he assisted in trademark and copyright matters and developed an appreciation for the role of intellectual property in protecting innovation and creativity.
He later joined the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Central Office as a Legal Researcher and Technical Assistant, where he spent two years working on land and environmental law concerns. In that role, he supported the preparation of legal opinions and case documents, conducted extensive legal research, and assisted in addressing regulatory issues, giving him practical insight into the legal and policy considerations that shape government decision-making.
Steven is committed to providing practical, well-reasoned legal solutions grounded in diligence, integrity, and a strong understanding of both the public and private dimensions of legal practice.
Outside the practice of law, Steven enjoys spending his free time pursuing personal interests and maintaining an active lifestyle.
